Dong Xuan’s Short Biography

Dong Xuan (Ðû¶« in Chinese) received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China,
in 1990 and 1993, and Ph.D. degree in Computer
Engineering from Texas A&M University
in 2001. Currently, he is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and
Engineering, The Ohio State
University (OSU). He was on the faculty of Electronic Engineering at
SJTU from 1993 to 1997. In 1997, he worked as a visiting research scholar in
the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong. From 1998 to
2001, he was a research assistant/associate advised by Dr. Wei Zhao in Real-Time Systems Group of
the Department of Computer Science, Texas
A&M University.
His research interests include distributed computing, computer networks and
cyberspace security. He is a recipient of the National
Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award and College of Engineering/OSU Lumley
Research Award. His research is/was supported by NSF, ARO and SBC Ameritech. He
is a member of IEEE and ACM.
