I'm a fourth-year CSE PhD-track graduate student (not counting a year of medical leave). My primary research focus is weblogs and social media, in the context of linguistics and information retrieval. My adviser is not set in stone at the moment as the last three I had each left OSU under mysterious circumstances, not unlike the Bermuda Triangle. I also occasionally attend meetings of the RSRG (reusable software research group).
I have a BA in Psychology (UIS) and a BS in Computer Science Engineering (OSU).
I have side interests in linguistics and theoretical math. I dabble in drawing, painting, printing, writing, roleplaying, game design, and costuming. I very much enjoy teaching.
(Current) Autumn 2011: CSE 222
Winter 2010: CSE 221
Autumn 2009: CSE 203
I have also taught CSE 201. Current versions of my slides are always available upon request.
For 222 students and others, here is a fast way to connect to the CSE environment from home.
I'm currently working with CETI, but won't have much to say about it until my work becomes regular; SLATE is the research group in CSE I most closely follow (more on that eventually). I used to work with Chris Brew, who is now with ETS, and prior to this, with Hui Fang, who is now with University of Delaware.
Preferred IDE: Netbeans 7
Webcomics (occasionally not work-safe): Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, VGCats, and XKCD.

If you have any diversity, disability, or interpersonal issues and you don't know where to turn exactly, I am a safe person to talk to. I can point you in the right direction.
