Curriculum Committee ("CC") Minutes for 7 November 1995 ______________________________________________________________________________ Attending: Babic, Fleming, Fujimura, Goyal, Jain, Lai, Michaylov, Ogden, Supowit, Weide, Yeack * Discussion of updates to this year's agenda CC is making adequate progress on the proposed agenda for 1995-96. Following is the meeting schedule for the remainder of this quarter and early next quarter: Nov 14: Discussion of proposed "Introduction to High-Performance Computing" course (694E is the pilot) Nov 21: Discussion of content of proposed "revised 211" and proposed combination with 101 Nov 28: Discussion of proposed changes to 222 and 321 Jan first meeting: Try to make recommendation on revised 211/101 Jan second meeting: Try to make recommendation on revised 221/222/321 Jan third meeting: Discussion of proposed standard ways of writing official course objectives on CIS course syllabi * Discussion of proposed changes to networking curriculum CC suggested the following changes to the proposal: - Change proposed number 678 to 679 to avoid confusion with 778 (the impression being that X78 involves VLSI design) - Add 660 as a prerequisite to 679 CC voted to make two separate recommendations at the next faculty meeting: - Proposed changes to 677 and introduction of 679: "Internetworking" - Introduction of 777: "Telecommunication Networks" ______________________________________________________________________________ Next meeting: Tuesday November 14, 12:30-1:30 in DL 698.
