- Projects:
- Genetic Algorithms using multi-criterial pareto-surface dominance
filtering. Our application is military sensor deployment planning, where
we are trying to find optimal placements. There are multiple fitness
criteria that apply to each plan, and rather than trying to summarize them
into a single scalar, we use them all independently. The "angel of death"
for GA population members is simple dominance over all performance
criteria.
- Abductive inference applied to object tracking. Cameras are watching
some high security area, and via background subtraction, we are being
given movement indications as track updates. Our goal is to infer
real entities and some aspects of their intent from this input.
