As an Internet researcher, my research areas include (1) mobile systems, wireless Internet, and distributed computing systems; (2) measurements, modeling, and simulations of Internet traffic; (3) Web security/privacy, social search, and social networks. The Internet is driven by technologies, applications, and users. I am particularly interested in the system characteristics and user behavior patterns of the cutting edge Internet services and applications, focusing on pattern analysis (measurements), how these patterns can affect the underlying Internet systems (modeling), and approaches to solving corresponding system and application problems (algorithms and system implementation). My research methodology is both experimental and analytic, using technologies of different disciplines including modeling and performance evaluation, measurements and simulation, statistical machine learning, data mining, etc.
I have published more than 30 papers in computer science journals and conferences. My H-index is 21. I am an ACM member and an IEEE member.
