About me

I am a PhD Candidate in the Computer Science and Engineering Dept at OSU. I am currently an Presidential Fellow at OSU and a Visiting Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. I have also worked at the Dept. of Radiology at OSU, the Dorthy Davis Heart and Lung Center at OSU, and have interned at GE Global Research. Before joining OSU, I was a field applications engineer at Texas Instruments.

As part of my PhD thesis, I have been building models for the spatio-temporal analysis of functional neuro-imaging data, specifically fMRI. Apart from this, I am also interested in statistical machine learning, computational neuroscience, computer vision and mathematical statistics.

Visit my blog at firdausjanoos.blogspot.com—I keep posting to it pretty often.

There was a point in space-time when I was an avid H2G2 and sci-fi fan— and ergo, my webpage and blog is littered with Douglas Adam quotes and scifi references. Alas, it has been a while since I’ve read such book, or any book for that matter, and memories fade and people change. Therefore, this disclaimer (for my blog):

The opinions expressed therein were once my own but probably do not represent my current views in any way.

My résumé is available on request.
