W. Stallings, Data and Computer Communications, Fifth Edition, Macmillan Publishing, 1997. (The course will follow the text very closely. The lectures will discuss major issues, and the students are responsible to read the details from the text.)

Notes:
  1. The exams will be with open notes and open books (but extreme time limits).
  2. No homework will be accepted after the end of class on due date.
  3. Exceptions to the above dates of exams must be arranged with the instructor during the first week of the quarter.
  4. Do not turn assignments in my office or mailbox.
