Requirements: completed CIS 201
Consultant Duties
- help CIS students interface with the system and with programming languages they will use to complete their class
assignments. (Consultants may not design programs or write code for users.)
- ensure that the labs are running properly.
Reasons to become a consultant
- You work on campus--Location, location, location
- You work around your class schedule--Take advantage of the time gap between your classes
- You will be paid--Java Consultants start at $7.00/hour with opportunities to advance.
- When you are not busy, you may do your homework--Who can argue with getting paid to do your homework
- Improve your coding skills by helping others
- You will become more proficient with Unix/NT
- Advancement Opportunities
The department tends to promote from within. Most of the SOC operators are former
consultants.
