Welcome!
I am a 5th year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University. I am also a member of the Data Mining Research Laboratory, headed by my advisor, Prof. Srinivasan Parthasarathy.
I received a B.E. in Computer Engineering from Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, University of Bombay in 2000 and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in 2001. Before joining Ohio State in 2002, I spent one year working as a Developer for Integrated Decision Systems (Los Angeles, CA). I have also interned with Intel Research (Santa Clara, CA) and IBM Research (Yorktown Heights, NY) in the Summers of 2004 and 2006, respectively.
I am primarily interested in systems research. Over the past few years, I have worked at the intersection of data mining, database systems, high performance computing, and computer architecture. My dissertation research looks at designing algorithms and systems support to manage and mine very large data sets (both static and streaming), while efficiently utilizing modern and emerging computer architectures.
Recent Awards and Honors:
- IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Award, 2006.
- Outstanding Research Award, Dept. of CSE, The Ohio State University, 2006.
- Best Paper Award, International Conference on Very Large Data Bases (VLDB), 2005.
Thank you for visiting!
