888.02 Research Seminar: Development of a Web-based Relational Database
System

Description: Work on a joint project with Chemistry to further develop
LIPIDAT: a Web-based relational database of lipid phase, transition
types, temperatures, enthalpy changes and molecular structures.

Each student will work on some task to advance the usability of this
database.  Projects may include databse design, SQL query writing and
formatting of response to Web pages, development of input screens.
Tools available include Java, Perl, Visual Basic.

Prerequisite: CIS 670 Introduction to Database Systems or significant
Web experience
