Minutes
- Ron gave an overview of the web-based mail servers they have been looking
at and demo'ed two possible candidates: @-mail and Squirrel-mail. After analysis,
they reccomend we go with @-mail and its support.
- After some discussion, the Computing staff we decided to approve the
@-mail for installation by next quarter.
- The Computing staff will ensure that large movie attachments and other
files behave as expected.
- I have asked them to provide an overview of IMAP/POP and how to configure
your client, hopefully as a permanent web page.
- We had some discussion on a 24-hour lab space. Mike is looking into this
in conjunction with a better study space for undergraduate majors. He will
provide more information at the next meeting.
- There is some interest in remodeling 280 and going after funding for a
"show-case" class-room. Mike is investigating this.
- There is also some interest in remodeling DL 480 to allow for more seating.
Mike is also looking into this and the possible ramifications.
- Our next meeting will be in Spring quarter. We will cover these issues and
budget planning for next year. Mike will also send out a call for proposals
for any faculty instructional needs/wants. If there is some support you would
like to see, this will be the time to communicate it.
