Welcome!
Dobro pozhalujvat'!
Willkommen!
Bienvenue!

I am a Lecturer in the department, teaching "Programming in Lisp" (CSE459.31) in Spring and "Operating Systems Laboratory" (CIS662) in Fall of 2001. My office is DL250. If you're wondering if you should take my class, the answer is most certainly, “yes.”

A few other places you might have seen me:

Interhack
Interhack is a computer expert firm with practice areas in forensic computing and information assurance. We started in 1997 as an information security research group. Today we use scientific method to develop unassailable opinion to guide decision-makers through complex and high-stakes issues.
Ergo Sum
My personal Webspace, where I write about things that (usually) have nothing to do with computing. Think: "Imbibo, ergo sum;" "Lego, ergo sum;" etc.
LinkedIn
My professional profile is at LinkedIn. Valuing quality over quantity, I won't connect with everyone who asks, but I will accept invitations from my students and others with whom I have working experience.

Stuff I have here

Because the important freedom to publish and to engage in open research and engineering efforts is under attack by bozos, I offer you the source code to some DVD utilities (including css-auth, also known as DeCSS, or DVD decryption). And here's a seven-line Perl program that takes MPEG 2PS VOB on stdin and returns decrypted stdout.

Students of my Common Lisp class will be happy to know that I do maintain some notes here. Some might be disappointed to learn that they aren't plentiful enough to make it possible to pass without ever coming to class. Also, now I have Kent Pitman's HyperSpec online here.

I hack open source software. You should, too. If you're interested in the history and future of opensource, you should have listened to the talk I gave at the local open source club meeting some time back. But if you didn't, you can still see the slides. (These, by the way, were made using PDF*TeX and PPower4, both open source software products.)

Are you interested in making your environment understand the Russian language?

I'd like you to meet my cousin Brian.
