Welcome

Joe at the beach

I am Joe Bolinger and I have been a Ph.D. student in the Computer Science Department since 2005 under the supervision of Dr. Jay Ramanathan.

My research interests are in software engineering, human computer interaction, and services science in general, and service organizations and software engineers in particular. In other words, I tend to focus on the human aspects involved in the construction and support of innovative software products and services over any particular technique du jour.

My most recent explorations include an examination into how informal channels of collaboration within an organization can be systematically exploited to yield formal, and practical, models of that organization in order to increase collective efficiency and organizational awareness.

You're welcome to read a little more about my research here or drop me a line.
