TWiCE-Community

Girl TECH CORPS 1.0

a part of the Gidget Pipeline Project.

GTC1.0 meets off-campus Thursdays 3:30-5:30.  You will need reliable transportation.

Instructional Assistant - provide girls with simple computer skills as well as the opportunity to develop relationships with tech-savvy professional females from the community.

Girl TECH CORPS has four specific program goals:

	Provide access to computers and variety of technology tools and applications
	Incrementally build critical technology skills tied directly to their future educational and professional success
	Provide a safe and supportive environment to elevate girls’ confidence with technology

University area elementary school students come from impoverished homes. You will help teach 5th grade girls basic technology skills while acting as a role models for possible career choices. The format is as weekly, after-school sessions where the girls are provided with hands-on opportunities to learn everything from simple applications to web page design.

TECH CORPS Ohio (five to ten hours a week) TECH CORPS®, a non-profit, brings energetic and knowledgeable technology volunteers into schools to share their time and expertise, helping schools meet this and other technology needs. Now, an innovative and engaging program from TECH CORPS, entitled Student TECH CORPS delivers core technology training and certification to middle school and high school students -- then harnesses that knowledge to power a student-run Help Desk to assist with that much-needed technical support.
