Background Questions
Is RESOLVE a language, or a discipline, or both?
- RESOLVE is:
- A general discipline for component-based programming in languages that have typical object-oriented features, plus templates
- A research programming language (which no one uses except RSRG)
- RESOLVE/C++ is:
- A specific discipline for component-based programming in C++
- A programming language, if you want to think of it this way (but we recommend that you do not because it suggests that there is a separate RESOLVE/C++ compiler—wrong!)
