Software Component Engineering Course Grading Criteria:
Closed Lab Assignments
Closed labs will be graded according to the following criteria:
-
Attendance at the closed lab session, including arrival on time or nearly
so.
-
Completion of the closed lab exercise during the closed lab session
(i.e., definitely not before the session, and not afterward unless your
instructor allows this for special situations).
Credit (1% of your total course grade for each closed lab session) will
be awarded if you meet both the above criteria.
Journal Entries
An important optional but recommended opportunity, which
you might consider to be part of each closed lab assignment just to give
yourself a schedule, is the preparation of a journal entry for the
week. This is simply a paragraph or so (more if you wish) in which
you provide feedback to your instructor about whatever is on your mind.
You might consider, for example, reporting how many hours you spent on
the class in the past week; explaining your feelings about any aspect of
the course content or instruction; or writing about any other part of your
life that you want your instructor to know about.
Submission of journal entries by e-mail to your instructor --
not to the grader -- is encouraged, but paper submissions will also be
fine.
