CSE 222 Assignment Due Dates (Revised)

Note: Each section of the course may have slightly different details about teamwork policies, so please pay attention to your instructor for variations from this nominal policy!  Homework and lab assignments may be done individually, or with a partner (i.e., as a two-person team), at your discretion.  If you choose to work as a team, both team members must be in the same section of the course.  It is OK to work as a team member on one homework or lab assignment, as an individual on another, with a different teammate on a third, etc.; but you may be on only one team for any given assignment.  When a homework or lab assignment is done by a team, only one of the teammates should submit the assignment on behalf of the team, and both teammates' names should be clearly shown at the top of the submitted work.  Closed labs are to be done with a partner (unless there are an odd number of students in the closed lab session, in which case one student in the class may work alone).  When a homework or lab assignment is done by a team, both teammates are responsible for understanding it, including details.  Both will receive the same grade except under extraordinary circumstances: the instructor might conduct interviews to verify that both partners have competently learned the material, and such interviews might reveal such circumstances.

• Homework assignments ("HW") are due at the start of class on the due date.  Most homework problems are intended to make you think in advance about topics that will be discussed in class, rather than to practice skills previously learned in class!  (Some of you will complain about this; be forewarned.)  If you do not know how to do a homework problem, you may ask for help from the grader, or from your instructor, or from a classmate -- but please, submit your own work or work together as a team, as explained above.  If you still have doubts about how to do a homework problem, ask to discuss it in class on the day it is due. 
• Closed lab assignments ("CL") are to be started and (if possible) finished in class, with a partner.  Please do not complete a closed lab assignment on your own unless you make prior arrangements with your instructor.
• Lab assignments ("LAB") are due using the "submit" program by 10:00 PM on the due date.
