Modeling Flexible Shapes
Modeling Time-Varying Shapes
Modeling of time-varying shapes is a challenging
problem in graphics due to its complexity and diversity.
Here, we study how to reconstruct a time-varying shape
from a temporal series of orthogonal images.
The target object in this research is a plant,
which grows in time.
Orthogonal images provide motion and shape information.
The challenge is to reconstruct most plausible
shape and motion from the image series.
A few approaches are being investigated including
spatial model fitting, B-spline surface fitting, and spatiotemporal
model fitting.
