Ohio Celebration of Women in
Computing (OCWIC) will be held the April 22-23 weekend at the
Deer Creek
Resort and Conference Center, located near Mt. Sterling, Ohio. Attendees will
be women majoring in computing fields and enrolled in universities and
colleges from all over Ohio.
OCWIC will be an event
that truly inspires and motivates young women to pursue their careers in
computing. This meeting can help to foster connections among the Ohio
universities and colleges, create networking and mentoring
opportunities, and aid attendees in determining their career goals by
introducing them to women leaders from both industry and academia.
How can you get involved?
- Volunteer to
be on a career panel!
We plan to present panels consisting of women employed in Ohio in
both Research and Industry positions. Send a brief bio and a
paragraph about what brought to your current position and why you
are excited about it. Please send plain text, doc, or pdf files to

February 15, 2005. (Be sure to include your name, address,
affiliation and email address)
- Present a
technical talk! We
plan to have several short talks highlighting exciting applications
of computer science in the real world. Send an abstract (one page)
of your talk. Remember that the audience for your talk will be
undergraduate computer science students, and our goal is to convey
the excitement of the field. Please send plain text, doc, or pdf

are expecting 100 young women from all over Ohio. Don't be
left out.
