Zweben receives promotion.
The Ohio State University College of Engineering is pleased to announce that Dr. Stuart H. Zweben has been named Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Administration. He will begin his appointment half-time on January 1, 2006, and become full-time on July 1, 2006.
As Associate Dean, Zweben’s responsibilities will include serving as primary contact for issues related to the faculty, including oversight for hiring, promotion and tenure processes, and merit review. He will also oversee budget planning, human resources, and space allocation and management.
Zweben holds a bachelor’s degree from City College of New York, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Purdue University. A professor and former chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Zweben joined Ohio State in 1974 as an assistant professor. He became a professor in 1992 and was named department chair in 1994, a position he held until 2005. His areas of research include software engineering, programming methodology, computer science education and information technology workforce.
Zweben has served on the University Senate Fiscal Committee; is a Fellow and
past president of the Association for Computing Machinery and the CSAB; is a
Fellow of ABET; and is a recipient of the Top Contributor to the Advancement
of Technology Award (Outstanding Educator Advancing Technology) from the Columbus
Technology Council.
