Poles
The reason they say is magnetic
Between two poles energetic
their attraction is simple
electromagnetic principle
And yet, there is something quite romantic
Ode to a Coffeepot
Note: I wrote the following one morning after finding the
new (lower capacity) coffee pots in the lounge were empty for
the 4th time that day.
Oh beautiful coffeepot
how I miss thee
thy towering presence
thy 10 cups of coffee
These new pretenders
they couldnt live up to thee
they don't even come near
to your glorious ability
How many packets of coffee
must be brewed before people see
how effective thy ease of use
how large thy capacity
Everytime I come for a cup
you were there fresh and ready
nowadays I spend my time
refilling thy understudy
This can only get worse
as the time goes by
come this fall, I hope
your replacement will be put out to sea
