Objectives and Benefits

Demonstrate a statistically significant improvement in software quality and/or productivity resulting from exploiting the synergy between software understanding and software composition research.

Produce zero-defect software at more than 2X lower cost by effective creation and reuse of well-engineered and trustworthy software components.

Quantify cost-benefit of FR-UNPROG for a DoD reengineering task, using case study comparison with existing existing methods and tools. Entails practical recognition of at least 50 new concept instances in production programs, using several dozen new plans for new concepts.

Characterize FR coverage and benefits compared to an existing system description. Example will involve requirements, specifications and implementation represented in both a large FR (> 100 functions) and about one page of formal and informal text, for architecture and/or code.
