Abstract

We have developed an integrated
performance analysis prototype where both experimental and
analytical techniques are used, such as program instrumentation and
monitoring, performance measurements, performance simulation at
different levels and performance modeling.
This prototype integrates information from both program's dynamic
behavior with static program structures.
Using the prototype, we conducted case studies on a heterogeneous
network of workstation.
The results show the effectiveness of this approach.
This approach can easily apply to similar studies on other parallel and
distributed platforms.
