Abstract:
This project began as a way for the appendix of the Software Component Engineering book to be in a readable format on the internet. I took the Microsoft Word documents from Bruce Weide and converted them to HTML format with the Adobe GoLive 5 software.
Calendar:
Tuesday May 7, 2002. 9:30 AMI presented the Text files I had created up to that point. I explained how the files were converted from Word documents to HTML, and had the group analyze the files to give me feedback on what they liked and what they thought needed to be updated/changed.
Project Development:
During the time I spent converting the Word documents to HTML, I found that I had to change certain fonts and sizes for the different operating systems. I created the files on a Windows 9x platform and the files had different behaviors on both the NT 4.0 and Sun systems. It took several tries before I found the best set of HTML tags to use on all the systems.
Findings and Contributions:
This project, while not groundbreaking in it's nature, has an importance all it's own. The documentation of the RESOLVE components needs to be in a format that can be easily accessed from the internet. By making these HTML files, a person can view the documentation for these components as long as he/she has a connection to the internet.
