Abstract:

Calendar:

December 2000:

We met with Rick and discussed the nature of the algorithm.  He provided us with some sample code from his origional implementation, which was written in C.  We will implement our version in Java, and extend the algorithm as time permits.  We were provided with papers on the subject, which we read.  <--this formatting problem either netscape's or diane's fault

January 2001:

We looked through the sampel code with which we were provided and determined that we should use Java3D.  Not much else was completed as we started the new quarter.

February 2001:

We experimented with Rick's code and Patrick started working out a design in Java.  We gave a presentation in late February for Europa.

December 2001:

We intend to work on the project more during winter break, but made some progress this quarter.  We reviewed a lot of material in the beginning of the quarter, after a long summer off.  We then made some interface choices which are in development.  We have working code for both an interactive three dimensional viewer and file reading and writing.

March 2002:

We have started meeting again and worked on a design and splitting up code to be done.  We are putting together an abstract and a paper to be presented at the Ohio Space Grant Consortium next month.

April 2002:

The newer abstract and paper are complete.  Email Diane if you would like a copy.  I might put them up here in the future.  Diane has been working on the shift from C# to Java.  We had a lot of fun trying to get Java3D to work on my machine.

May 2002:

Work has been assigned and we are set to work seperately then combine.  We hope to continue the project after graduation.
