LUNCHBUNCH! Presentations

Job Hunting For Graduate Students

Dr. Donna K. Byron
Assistant Professor
OSU Computer Science and Engineering

Weds., Dec. 3rd, 2003
11:30am; 480 Dreese Labs.
All interested parties are invited.
Pizza lunch will be served.

Abstract:
This round-table discussion is intended to familiarize graduate students with the post grad-school job search process, for both academic and non-academic jobs. We will discuss where to look for job postings, preparation of application materials, how to prepare for interviews and what to expect during the interview process, and also what characteristics the interviewers might be looking for in a successful candidate. This talk should be of interest to anyone completing a graduate degree within the next 1-2 years.

Dr. Byron will present information from her own experience, but attendees are strongly encouraged to participate. If you are currently conducting a job search or have recently completed a job search, please bring to the session any tips or experiences you would like to share with other students, in particular: websites that you have found to be helpful, locations of job listings, or resources you have discovered at OSU. All of the information contributed at the session will be compiled and made available to grad students in the department.
