ABSTRACT
The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers defines
a project plan as a document that describes the technical and
management approach to be followed for a project. The plan typically
describes the work to be done, the resources required, the methods
to be used, the procedures to be followed, the schedules to
be met, and the way that the project will be organized.
A manager embarking on an information technology (IT) project
is faced with the challenge of developing a comprehensive and
realistic project plan. In addition, once the project has begun,
a manager must monitor progress against the plan and determine
what, if any, resource adjustments must be made.
In this talk Dr. Michael P. Stovsky describes the major
issues and
challenges associated with managing IT projects.
