OTCBVS-05 Concluding Remarks

OTCBVS 2005

The second meeting of IEEE Int'l workshop series on OTCBVS was even more successful than the first meeting with more than 120 attendees on June 20, 2005 in San Diego. High quality proceedings, printed at Delphi, were distributed at the workshop. The workshop started with an outstanding keynote talk given by Prof. Mohan Trievidi, and ended with the nomination of the best two papers. Throughout the day members of the program committee chaired seven sessions of 22 papers on various topics ranging from background estimation and modeling, automatic target recognition, signal and video surveillance, automotive applications, to evaluation of image fusion algorithms and face recognition in the visual and thermal spectrum. After the workshop, the organizers arranged with the Editors-In-Chief of Computer Vision and Image Understanding (CVIU) to publish a special issue of the journal on OTCBVS topics. The call-for-papers for this special issue is now open and contributions from outside the workshop are very welcomed.

The workshop sponsors, organizers and members of the program committee are willing to organize and support the third meeting of this IEEE workshop series, which may take place around June/July 2006. We thank our sponsors, program committee members, session chairs, papers authors, and all attendees for their support of this high-quality event.
