Joint IEEE OTCBVS'04,  Evaluation remarks,

 

The first annual workshop on Object Tracking and Classification Beyond the Visible Spectrum (OTCBVS), held on July 2nd, 2004, in the Grand Hyatt Washington, DC. The number of attendees exceeded 90 persons. Attendees of the workshop were from academia, vision industries, and military related laboratories. Outstanding presentations have been given by the authors of the sixteen papers of the five sessions of the OTCBVS'04 program. Each presentation was given 20 minutes. Printed proceedings were distributed at the workshop. In the opening session, an excellent talk was given by Dr Firooz Sadjadi from Lockheed Martin Corp on "Polarimetric Object Classification". In the closing session, two papers were selected by the workshop chairs for reward. Also, a discussion was driven on organizing the next OTCBVS. The workshop was closed at 5:00 pm. The remained issues (public EM/IR database, PC, etc) would be discussed and followed via e-mails.

Best Papers:

Based on the input of the program committee of OTCBVS'04, and the authors presentations, the following two papers were selected for reward by the workshop sponsor. The first paper, from the university of Tennessee, received 500 USD cash and a gift. The second one, from the university of Southern California, got a stylish Delphi LCD clock.
